fig. 2

5) The next screen shows you are connected

AND

is your log-in screen (see fig. 3)

1.  Enter your Novell log-in (last name followed by first and middle initials . . . Example:  smithja)

Then click OK

6) You are now logged in and have access to your drives.  This screen is similar to the “My Computer” window when you are at school.

Clicking on the Folder View button in the lower left corner will give a view similar to that found in Windows Explorer. (see fig. 4)

fig. 4
7) Each drive is a folder.  To access the contents of your “h” drive, double click on that drive. (see fig. 5)
fig. 5
8) You will see the folders and/or documents just as you do at school.  The size, date and time of last revision . . . it is all there!

Notice that in this example, we are looking at folders/documents 75 through 149 of 128 items.  Seventy-five folders/documents  are loaded at a time.  You can move through the folder/ document list with either the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen

OR

You could do a search using the "Filter" text box at the upper right of the screen (see fig. 6)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) What is NetStorage?

NetStorage is web access to your networked drives (H, O, N, etc.)  NetStorage gives you the ability to access files from any computer with Internet access.  Most often you will want to access files from your school networked drive and work with them on your home computer.

2)
How Does it Work?

After logging on, there are three steps to using NetStorage:

1.    Download the file(s) from your “h” drive (or other networked drive) to your home computer or other internet-connected computer.

2.    Revise the file.

3.    Upload the file back to its proper location on your networked drive (probably the H drive).

3)
Why Must I Download/Upload?

You download (copy a file from the school’s computer to your home computer) a file to the computer you are using in order to make changes.  Because you want the file on your “h” drive (or other networked drive), you must upload  (copy the file from your home computer back to the school’s computer) so the changes are available when you return the school and access the file.
